Le LSMRC est heureux d'annoncer la création du "European Center for Corporate Control Studies". Ce nouveau centre de recherche a pour objectif de promouvoir la recherche de pointe dans tous les domaines qui concernent le contrat des entreprises : création de valeur dans les fusions et acquisitions, techniques anti-OPA, comportements des acquéreurs, techniques de restructuration d'entreprise, initiation et financement des fusions et acquisitions, régulation des concentrations, ... Le comité scientifique du l'ECCCS est composé des professeurs Espen Eckbo Dartmouth College), Richard Roll (UCLA), Henri Servaes (London Business School) et Karin Thorburn (Bergen).  The ECCCS is dedicated to promoting top level research on and best practices in corporate control in the European context. The Scientific Advisory Board is composed by Espen Eckbo ( Dartmouth College), Richard Roll (UCLA), Henri Servaes ( London Business School) and Karin Thorburn ( Bergen). The main topics of interest are value-creation in corporate takeovers, strategic bidding and target defensive tactics, restructuring techniques and their valuation effects, highly leveraged transactions, LBOs and breakups, financing takeovers, takeover initiations and managerial incentives, mergers, industrial organization, and antitrust policy and Control transactions as governance of last resort. Two main initiatives of the ECCCS in the years to come are :

• the organization of a 2-day PhD Symposium and Workshop every two years. The first edition will be organized on March 7 and 8, 2010;
• the building, maintenance and free distribution of a high quality European M&As database, in collaboration with Thomson-Reuters.
